Coffee/Tea Bar

Mornings feel softer when your kitchen greets you like a little café. A coffee bar, small but mighty, brings calm to the chaos, order to the rush. It’s where comfort lives, where the first sip happens. Mine? Just a plain corner—coffee by morning, tea by noon. But it’s time for a glow-up.

My old, plain and boring kitchen corner—coffee by morning, tea by noon.

1.    Plan Ahead

Start with a plan! Before diving headfirst into this project, here’s my go-to game plan:

·  Hit up the internet and scroll through social media for the preferred décor style you’re going for.

·  Start by finding a spot in your home that makes sense for a coffee corner. This used to be where our microwave sat, but after relocating it, we turned the space into a storage area for cooking essentials. Eventually, I decided it was the perfect spot for a cozy little coffee setup.

·  Clear the selected area completely by removing all items. Give it a good clean to create a fresh, blank canvas to work with.

·  Now the area is clean and ready, grab a tape measure and record the dimensions.

·  Sketch out a quick little layout to keep everything looking pulled together.

·  Most important, don’t forget to keep an eye on your budget!

2.    Shop Smart

Giving your kitchen a little refresh doesn’t have to cost a fortune—just get creative and use what you’ve got. I love finding new ways to style things I already own. And if I’m missing something, I’ll browse online deals, local sales, or swing by a thrift store.

Online shopping is quick and convenient, with items delivered right to your door. Searching for second-hand treasures takes a bit more time, but it’s fun—and much more budget-friendly than buying everything new!

You never know what you’ll stumble upon during a treasure hunt! Sometimes, I even tweak my original design plans to make room for an unexpected, exciting find.

3.  Bring It to Life

Now comes the fun part—putting your vision into action!

You will need a coffee maker, space, other equipment creating a more elaborate station and decorative items.

Here are three aesthetic styles to inspire your setup:

| Number 1 – Farmhouse Style

A farmhouse-style coffee bar exudes a rustic, cozy, and lived-in charm with a hint of vintage flair.

Use materials like distressed wood, galvanized metal, enamelware, and mason jars.

I started by hanging a cute little 'Hot Coffee' sign, then filled up my glass coffee jar and added a few of my favorite cookies—perfect for morning coffee or a cozy afternoon tea.

Begin by choosing the right spot for your coffee maker. Then style the top shelf to serve as both practical storage and a creative display. Leave a bit of breathing room between items—if things feel too crowded, just simplify.

Now I’m getting the counter setup ready. A small riser comes in handy—it adds height and interest.  I covered it with a layer of burlap to bring in that natural, farmhouse charm. Covering the pastry stand with a cotton dish towel in a classic check pattern instantly adds a rustic touch. Soft white coffee mugs, a wooden tray, and beige cotton tea towels—all these little details come together to create a cozy, charming farmhouse vibe.

And just like that, your cozy farmhouse-style coffee station is ready. It’s full of personality—thoughtful and charming without feeling overdone. With its unique layout and personal touches, it’s sure to impress both you and your guests. Most of all, it’s a space you’ll truly enjoy every day.

| Number 2 - Seasonal style

I planned to put together a cheerful little summer-themed nook that captures

the bright and breezy vibe of the season. Incorporate materials such as natural wood, ceramic, woven baskets, and textured, organic elements.

I purchased a ceramic coffee mug set for my summer coffee bar.  I like the

sophisticated blue peony flower print against a crisp white background, these

mugs blend seasonal charm with timeless style—perfect for bright, breezy

mornings or relaxed afternoon coffee breaks. For a summer-inspired look, ideal color choices include bright, saturated shades.

I repurposed a clean kimchi container to store my lemons—and it worked like a

charm! Just a reminder: you don’t always have to buy something new. Look around,

get creative and have fun with what you already have!

One little green art piece, a few layered heights, and a couple of summery plates —

done! Your cheerful top shelf for a summer-themed coffee bar is all set and ready

to shine!

As for the counter around your coffee maker. Don’t forget an art piece—it adds personality! Be sure to include flowers, coffee mugs, and of course, your coffee jar. A small knife holder can double as storage for cutting boards or recipe books. Finish it off with fresh linen and a pastry, and your morning coffee setup is ready to enjoy.

| Number 3 - Modern Style

A modern or minimalist coffee bar offers a sleek, polished aesthetic with a clean, uncluttered vibe. Complemented by materials like stainless steel, glass, marble, quartz, and high-gloss finishes, matte gold or chrome. This style often features a palette of neutral tones—think black, white, grey, and taupe—Clean lines define the space, while subtle touches of add just the right hint of sophistication.

The counter around your coffee maker should be both functional and visually pleasing. A cereal jar, glass tea maker, simple art piece, coffee and cookie jars, a ceramic milk pitcher with a glass saucer, and a little daisy for charm—just like that, your modern coffee bar is complete and ready to enjoy!

Be creative, be bold, and don’t be afraid to experiment—because with just a few thoughtful touches, you can transform even the smallest corner into your favorite spot in the house.
